Hi all, any suggestions/recommendations on which sit-on sea fishing kayak to buy? Thanks in advance

I've been thinking about this for a while myself. Main decision seems to be length - longer ones are faster, shorter ones more manoeuvrable. So short ones for rivers, long ones for big lakes or on the sea.

I have a Feelfree Moken10, super stable (not fast) but I think it weighs nearly 60 Ibs(?) - so car topping could be tricky if single handed ?

We live on the river, so not an issue

My mate does a lot of kayak fishing on the Thames, but he keeps it on his narrowboat, so not a problem transporting it for him either!

A Porta-bote is another option.

My mate with the yak on his narrowboat used to have one, I've been out on the Thames on it, nice bit of kit.

Now that looks a cool toy. . . . BUT. . . . would you buy one?

I did seriously consider buying his when he sold it. Didn't really have anywhere to keep it at the time.

I have a RTM Ocean Duo Tandem sit on top. Too big for one person to easily paddle, but re comments about handling / getting to the water’s edge I have a set of wheels that fit into the supper bungholes on the bottom and make it a doddle to manoeuvre about, even over rough ground. Then just strap them to the back when out on the water.
