Just talking to my son about how sponsored sports people have custom made kit painted to look like the brand they are sponsored by.

I used as examples bikes. But I’ve seen it in other sports.

So, what percentage of pro sports people are using kit that isn’t from their sponsor, but custom equipment painted with the sponsor’s brand?

Football shirts.

Latest England shirts had “replica” and then “game replica” which was more to “performance” standards. The difference? Square root of fk all for the average fan.

But it’s pretty common practice I believe, across a multitude of sports

Golfers often use the 'wrong' brand's clubs, and sometimes it's disguised.
