Sunday 2nd Sept, what's on

Morning,
A mate and myself are heading from Scotland to JAE at East of England Showground, Peterborough the weekend of the 1st and 2nd September. We are driving down Friday and staying in Stoke for 3 nights, heading to JAE on the Saturday and Alton Towers on the Monday but are at a loss of what to do on Sunday the 2nd September! We are both big sports fan and are keen to catch some (relatively) local sports of any variety to Stoke or that region however we can't seem to find too much on. Happy to drive an hour or an hour and a half to catch some sport. Football, rugby or motor racing would all be preferable but realise it's one set day of the year so our choices won't be fantastic.
Anything you have planned that fits the bill?
