Scuba Dive Kit Help
Discussion
My thoughts are all around what type of diving and where you see your diving going, if you are thinking of traveling then the weight of your BCD will be key, since you have done your course, do you have the basics?
If so, a semidry suit, so you don't need to wear anything others have peed in, reg set, Apex or Scubapro, with money Mares are good, console I suggest Suunto, here is the catch, your computer, get one that does Nitrox, you will go that way and it saves money in the long run, Suunto are good here, then a good torch, if you fancy night diving then two good torches.
With BCD, I use wings for both UK and travel, same harness with different wings, fit is key here, any Q's ping me

Cheers Phud, top info!
I only finished the course last week and so far have bough a watch, the Suunto Zoop Novo (recommended as a decent starter watch and the one we used during the course) and a knife! So I'm all good if I have to fight off a shark at 20 metres but buggered for anything else.
My problem is trying to keep things to a budget as the outlay for all the kit could well run in to thousands as your probably know. On top of that is the range of kit and brands, not knowing what is good and bad? I've had a look through some reviews and there seem to be a few of the more well known brands that keep appearing (Mares, Aqua Lung, Scuba Pro) as well as some of the less known.
I'm not sure how much should I be spending on a BCD, suit, fins etc? I know its always recommended to buy the best that you can afford but I figure that if I can be fairy conservative in my initial outlay I can always upgrade as I progress and dive more.
I had a look on the Decathlon website as I've bought a load of stuff from them for other sports such as snorkelling, walking, climbing and always been really impressed with the quality. That said, I'm cautious that I want the kit to last and look after me when I'm 30 or 40 metres down. Any thoughts on their kit?
The plan is to get personal kit first (fins, mask, suit, computer, knife etc) and then move on to a BCD and regs. The local club have a load of Buddy Commando BCD's and Apeks regs that I can borrow in the meantime, all covered by the annual membership costs.
Cheers for your input, very much appreciated.

OK, thanks for the answers, a knife is also for cheesecake in fact any cake on the diveboat.
At your stage, a good Mask, comfortable boots and fins are the most important if you can borrow the rest, then it comes down to $$$$$$$$$, I would suggest a computer might be the next step, please think about Nitrox as there are good reasons for diving on it.
The suit I think is important because again it is comfort.
