The OCR Thread
Discussion
As the PH search function is as rubbish as a rubbish thing I thought I would start a thread for Obstacle Course Races, so no longer will you need to search for a Tough Mudder thread, or a what training for Wolf Run thread because it will all (hopefully) be contained in this one place.
I completed Spring Wolf on Saturday, got into one of the early waves so I was done and in the bar before 12:00! The water slide was great fun and the lake swim was abso-fking-lootly freezing! I kept sliding off the monkey bars so missed half of that, but I got over a small fear of enclosed spaces by going under a rather scary looking log through a puddle into a dark tent!
It was my 2nd one after Autumn Wolf last year and I have properly got the bug. So much so I plan on doing all 4 seasons of Wolf Run this year to get my 'Alpha' t-shirt, because who doesn't want a t-shirt proclaiming their alpha status?
So, what is everyone else doing this year? Any specific training tips? All views and opinions welcomed!

A more apt title might have been more apt.

I fancy doing one, but there's so many, and they're all too expensive for what they are.

There are a lot of options! That's why I thought a thread discussing the merits / drawbacks of them might be useful, good for beginners, budget friendly etc.
And yes ~ £120 for a Tough Mudder entry makes the £45 Wolf run look like a bargain! They are both expensive when a 10k run entry can be a tenner or so. I think they might be about as pricey as a triathlon entry?

Any one else here doing the Spartan weekender this weekend coming?
Thinking it might be chilly for us camping lol but super excited about it.
What is Spartan like?Thinking it might be chilly for us camping lol but super excited about it.
I'm thinking of going for the Trifecta in 2020 (already signed up for Wolf Run alpha number 2 in 2019), is it more of a trail run with obstacles like Wolf Run, can you dodge / fail at obstacles, do you need to be part of team...so many questions!
very different to TM, Spartan is easier tbh , but saying that Spartan has better goodies whereas TM only gives you a T shirt and head band.
yes you can skip anything you are unable to do, burpee forfeit at each obstacle for those that want to skip it, i think it's 10 burpees but i never skipped any
hellish cold overnight camping

10miles running on sand mainly!
It started as a bet/challenge between fellow fatties. I have been on keto for a few months and dropped a good amount of weight and been doing a fair amount of cycling, but i hate running and doubly hate running on sand.
After a bad wrist injury i’m about to start adding some weights and actually start running to my routine. I have 2mths to go. Want to do it justice rather than just bimble.
