There’s a place nearby that sells both raw (unpasteurised and non homogenised) and non homogenised milk. The raw stuff is the food of gods and makes the best porridge ever. There’s a waiting list and it’s about twice the price of super market milk.

My dad was a milk man and we never had supermarket milk until he retired when I was in my teens. The first time I tried the stuff out of a plastic bottle I was repulsed but now it’s all you can get easily.

Full fat for me just on taste alone but I guess your individual goals and diet plays a part in what to choose. I know quite a few people who will only consume alternative milks now and are anti dairy. I love the stuff and luckily I can tolerate it.

The more fat in the milk the easier it is for your body to break the milk down.

Children should always be given full fat milk as it helps their growing bodies.

My Uncle used to be a dairy farmer. When we visited him we were lucky enough to get fresh milk only hours old, it tasted nothing like the stuff from bottles. 30 years ago his milk was collected twice daily. 10 years ago it was collected every other day. Now retired he keeps a couple of cows as he simply hates the ste you get in the supermarket.

By the time it hits the supermarket shelf it's already 7 days old
