Should've gone on Friday, but couldn't afford the ticket or the beer money. Won tickets to see the Manics on Friday instead so I'm not exactly sad!

As for tips, quite like the look of Sizing Tennessee at the 4:50.

We are going tomorrow, very much a novice when it comes to betting so we are after tips as well.

The official app has the full race card on it for each day, not sure if it is in enough detail for you?

I've always used the William Hill website to get the information, as they include snippets from the Racing Post next to each horse and I've always found it helps.

Also, don't expect to get much in the way of internet down there. I went last year for the first time and the internet is so slow you would be quicker using carrier pigeon. That goes for the WiFi and the 3G/4G!

Agree with you about the internet, I plan on relying on old technology, a copy of the Racing Post and the (physical) official race card.

Being a Cheltonian I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been. Don’t get tickets for Best mate stand, they’re cheap for a reason. Although if you’re desperate there’s loads of touts selling them on Evesham road.

I like accumulator bets so 3 or 4 favorites to win each way. That way if a horse gets pulled then you still have active bets. Also if they all come in then you get a much bigger payout.

The police hide in snatch squads on the walk to town so if anyone causes trouble you’ll spend the night in the cells, which are in Gloucester.

This stable have had two easy winners elsewhere today which makes this horse a good E/W bet in an Amateur Riders' Novices' Chase

As You Were in the 2:50 might be one to stick an E/W on today, along with Min in the 3:30 and Mitchouka in the 4:50.

In a previous life I used to work in an office dominated by women who were also heavily involved with horses. A few of them would wear those tweed mini skirts, and took great offence when I told them they looked silly.

Great day out yesterday even if it was bitterly cold with the wind. First time travelling in on the Steam Train, very civilised way to travel to the race course.

I picked:
Samcro - easy win as I hoped
Dounikos - well beaten, Mrs had Presenting Percy so I picked another horse
William Henry - placed
Special Tiara - was leading the early running but made a real meal of the jumps and ended up pulling out. Niether me or the Mrs felt Altior was good value although almost certain for the win. We managed to get a special that excluded Altior from the results. She went for Min and had a decent pay out.
Tiger Roll - my best win
Mitchouka - well beaten and pulled out
Acey Milan - placed

Ended up with an extra 50% over my stake. Mrs was almost as much up. Not as good a return as last year, Special Tiara (hence why I bet on this year) earned me a big payout last year.

Only horse I didn't see coming and wish I had was Bleu Berry.

You're making me jealous! The Mrs went yesterday with her work as she does every year, she doesn't appreciate it as much as I do. But do you think she gives me an invite? Does she hell.

Sounds like you need to organise your own day!
