Why cant medals be reawarded in light of new evidence? They do it for drug testing

Shame. She clearly let go well before but rules are rules. The tech failed her.

The BBC show "Today at the Games" showed a slo mo replay a few days later which showed that while she released the stone prior to the line, a finger brushed the handle again, when the stone was over the line, so although a marginal decision, the consensus was it was correct. They are in the semi finals though, so it didn't have a major impact overall.
