My friend and I would like to see Ronnie before he hangs up his cue.

How does the ticketing work for the tournaments? I guess you pay for a day in the hope you'll see someone good? I'd rather get a ticket for later in a competition but are these balloted or simply more expensive?

Is it luck that you'd end up seeing Ronnie, essentially is my query. The Crucible would be my first choice for venue/competition however being on the south coast, that's a bit of a pain.

Any advice appreciated..

I can only comment for the UK in York where we used to book at all day ticket, so you see an afternoon & evening session.

I used to wait for the draw, see which half Ronnie was in, work on the basis he was going to win the whole thing & then book the day of the QF/SF which he would be due to play in. Never got unlucky doing it like that & also got to see his 147 a couple of years ago.

If you do the above, you do have to get there early as, in the earlier rounds, there are 2 tables & EVERYONE will be queuing for Ron's match & it's a first come first serve seating basis.

Hope that helps!
Cheers, Ben
