I am looking for a recommendation for a replacement for my Saucony Omni 10's which are no longer available in UK11.

I weigh 17nstone and need a stability shoe. I run mainly on roads and occasionally off road. Budget wise I do not want to spend much more than £100, but will do if necessary.

I can't help as I'm a neutral shoe runner, but ask in the running thread and you might get a better response.

Im netural as well and have Nike Pegasus33 which I like.

Best suggest is to go into a running shop and get their advice. best thing I did.

Hoka ATRs? Really comfy, best I've tried, much better than the asics they replaced. I got them off the back of a few recommendations from much better runners than me. I use them for on and off road

I've tried them on a training run but they are bit built up and spongy for me

The guy is 17 stone, spongey sounds like a good idea to adsorb some of the impact

They're not stability shoes unfortunately, neutral shoes, but as a fat git 17st when I started now 16st I bought some Hoka One One Clifton 3 on the basis of advice from the running shoe guru web site. Brilliant shoes, so nicely cushioned and comfy to run in. The achy back I was suffering from previously went after about 2-3 runs in these.

Maybe have a look at what Hoka One One offer by way of stability shoes with similar cushioning.

Depends on if you believe in all that, i have fallen arches and run in 0-4mm drop Topo Athletic, Brooks Pure Running, some inov-8 ones, 5mm On Running Racer, 6mm On Running Cloud.

In theory none of the above shoes should help me but ive found my arches have improved/started to raise going by the water/towel test.

But if youve found a shoe that works for you, then its all good smile

Saucony update every year or so. So Omni 10 becomes Omni 11, 12, 13, 14 etc

Currently 15 is the newest (there are some Google listings under £100) But alternatively maybe look for some 14's and they'll be far under your £100 since they are the "older" model, when I daresay you wont notice the difference.

(with the caveat that I liked the Triumph Iso1 but not the Iso2 version so didn't get the Iso3 version laugh )

Go to a shop and get analysis done.

Nobody else has your feet or running gait so what works for them won't work for you

yes, But

he's already got stability shoes so presumably someones told him this.

On a slight tangent, I was first prescribed Stability shoes 7 years ago, started to hurt my insteps after a few months.. Got another analysis and I'm actually more neutral (very very slight pronation) been fine for the next 6.5 years biggrin

I need stability and after an assessment and trying on every shoe the shop (http://www.upandrunning.co.uk) had, I settled on the Mizuno Wave Inspire 12s. Done plenty of miles and a half marathon now and still very happy with them.
