Fitbit - are they worth it (Or are there better ones?)
Discussion
Hello - I've been looking at buying myself a fitbit for sometime.. I'm looking at using it for motivation for losing some timber as I'm quite a bit overweight and using it as a step counter and for bike riding (I don't do huge distances and I'm not a huge gym buff etc!) also maybe an app that goes with it to track cycle rides etc?
I'm not 'branded' to fitbit - I'm open to others.. It just seems to be the most popular one.
Other question - Is there an app that does all of this? saving me having to buy one at all?
Thanks - Dion

If you always have your phone with you, strava will be good enough for bike rides and will record your time on each route and also enable you to compare routes. For steps, there are so many options, that you can probably go for any but they are not 100% accurate by any means. Again your phone probably has a tracker on this.
If you want a watch, see the running thread for options as most do cycling as well. Mt wife just got a Garmin Vivoactive which is a smartwatch which does all that you asked and much more.

Has anyone tried a Suunto ?
Yep I have a Suunto (and a FitBit Charge HR) The HR monitor on FitBits is so appalling that I use my Suunto with my HR monitor belt for my workouts and my FitBit just to count steps during the day.
I've had my Suunto M4 for almost 7 years now. It all depends what you want it for?
