Hi,

I've got a PKD Buster 3.0 Power Kite, I've had it for a fair number of years (10-11) but its still in good condition, I hadn't flown it for a few years so decided to untangle it and give it a go over the weekend - it just wouldn't launch, it seemed to be holding the wind on the ground but giving it a tug (to launch) it just wouldn't shift.

Anyone into kites got any ideas what might have been happening?

Just so the obvious is pointed out, I had my back to the wind...

Luckily there were only a couple of hundred people on the beach watching me untangle it and then fail to launch!

I have been looking for contacts for PKD to ask but just get bounce backs on the email addresses I find.

Had a Buster great Kite, did you take the lines off?
If you did you may have them the wrong way around

I think Delta has it right, more than likely you had the lines connected wrong way up, or one wrong way up. The PKD Buster is not the Ferrari of the kite world after all so all set right and it should soar up into the sky and be very stable.

If you think those are hard to launch try an uturn Nitro 2m static flying It is a grumpy fecker on launch and then pulls more than any other 2m kite once you get it going. I guess they do not sell them anymore. brilliant fun though.

Thanks for the responses guys, I did take the lines off, but only two of them and one at a time so they shouldn't be the wrong way round, I will get the kite out in a wind free environment and double check this though.

I did manage to get an email through to PKD - the guy there suggested my brake lines may have been short, I'm pretty sure they weren't though, they've never changed in length since I've had the kite...
