Hi all,
Here at PH HQ a few of us have entered a Tough Mudder later on this year. For most of us this is mainly acting as a motivator, so we have something to train for. Is anyone else currently training for anything that's coming up? Can be anything sporty, I just wondered what people were working towards - come on, inspire me people as the 4 mile run I did this morning in the rain was not all that fun!
Cheers

In training for a small bike ride to Le Mans to raise money for my son's school. Here at PH HQ a few of us have entered a Tough Mudder later on this year. Leeds Half Marathon on May 8th to raise money for the RFL Benevolent Fund - they helped the family of a friend massively, he sadly passed away from a massive heart attack as he walked off the pitch after a game last year (aged 42)
Leeds 10k in July for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation
Toying with the Yorkshire Marathon in October
Oh, and my wedding in July as well
Just need to make sure I get some weight off now

It's tough. I am a prop forward so running long distances isn't my strongest suit tbhDid my first half marathon in September last year. My mother in law was taken ill 4 weeks beforehand and passed away 2 weeks later - so for the last 4 weeks I did no training and it hurt badly. Pressures at home meant that I fell out of training and put weight on. Started back again in the new year, but then broke my thumb and spent 3 weeks in plaster
Just steady away and building distance up now. I know my PB and what time I have to beat - won't seem like much to many but just want to get under 2h 45 for the half

Completed my first half marathon yesterday in a time of 2:16:31 with no where near enough training and being 94kg. Goal was to complete it in 2.5-3 hours some I'm over the moon with my time!
That's brilliant, well done! I hope you rewarded yourself with beer and curry!Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
