Legend of English rugby.

Great player, seemed to flourish again once he moved and retired from International Rugby.

He has won the Premiership, World Cup, a 6 nations grand slam, Heineken Cup and in th running for Top14 success. Quite the CV.

And a very decent chap to boot - Enjopyed watching you play sir!

There was a link to this video on the same page - Some fascinating statistics about the energy expended in a tackle!

Worthwhile youtube link

FROM 1:10 on.

Owen Farrell coming in, he gets the drop goal away, before he is flattened.

The measure of the man is when you see him and Farrell on the deck, watching the ball go through the posts. Applauding the abrasive young gun on a great effort.

The last of the World Cup winning team to retire. Great player and a gentleman to boot. Thanks for the memories.

But what a machine Wilkinson has been.

Did the 14 and HC double last yr and in running to do so again this yr. Never been done before I think. Nobody else has a trophy cabinet that comes close.

DJRC - afraid Toulon lost the Top14 final to Castres last year, so he hadn't quite done that yet

If ever there was a player that made the most of his ability he's it......probably the best pound for pound tackler in the game at his peak (not something you'd normally say about a 10!).....almost definitely to his future detriment.

Amazing that he's still playing after such an injury blighted career.

Gave me the sporting memory of my life so far, for that JW I thank you! And yes I was there biggrin

Vm...thankyou for the correction. Do you want to know something really pathetic? I watched the bloody match! I humbly apologise for my uselessness!

A true legend in RU, and so humble. Everyone can learn from him.

Did anyone else watch the match? You had to see to understand. The WHOLE match from end to end, entire french coverage, from both sides was about him. At the end you had Habbana and and I think the Kiwi prop on the cross bar both waving Thankyou Jonny flags. Hollande was taking selfies with him. Bakkies Bothha spent the entire match going exactly where Jonny pointed him to.

I was in the Aussie pub in Munich and it was incredible. We had a lot of French in, one set of Castre fans and one of Toulon. The Germans were there and drawn in to watching it, the Irish, Aussie and Brit regulars aswell. The Toulon French boys were singing Jonny songs and chants the rest of us had never heard! The Germans were confused as hell and it must be the first time English, Irish and Aussies have ever cheered for a French team.

Surreal, random, great night smile

Oh yea andEVERYONE booed when Hollande came on the screen.
