Tired of clinging on to my clubs like grim death - time to replace the grips. Pal of mine swears by jumbo grips. I do like the idea of them. Any PHers tried them? What's the verdict vs ordinary grips?

What glove size do you wear?

They will quieten your wrists, if your miss is to the right it will exaggerate that.

Why do you feel the need to grip your current ones so hard?

For reference, I am either an ML or L in gloves depending on the brand, all my grips are standard, with an 2 wraps apart from Driver which is mid-size

Exactly this (coming from an ex. club fitter)

DXB - strangely you seem to have my exact sizes, even down to the driver!

I'd be a medium to large also. Very casual player, informal 24 handicapper, sometimes better, often worse. Just feel that I am gripping hard and like the sound of a fatter grip, nothing more scientific than that. I'm approaching 60. Pal who recommends them is in mid-60s but still fit and a regular sportsman, he is full of praise for the big grips.
Usual faults with my game, inconsistent ball contact, lifting head, can slice or hook at a moment's notice, occasionally hit one dead straight, draw seems to be natural shot. Have trouble clearing hips out of way, find that a big pause at the top of the backswing helps for some reason.

Moved to a mid size on driver a while back, natural shot shape is a draw but I play a soft cut with a driver on purpose, I hit it far enough to sacrifice distance for fairways with the big stick!

OP, maybe try regripping your 6 iron or something as an experiment to see if you prefer it.

From your description don't expect a miracle fix though! hehe

Ha, no don't worry, I won't. Well, I probably will to be honest, but that's the golfer's way!
Good advice about trying one club, will shout my local pro later today.
Just to clarify, I'm not after the super-fat Jumbo Max grips, just the oversize Golf Pride ones.

No, the TRUE golfers way would have been to already have bought the latest greatest 17 yard longer offering from Taylor Made (other OEM's are available) and still be wondering why you have walked off with a 94 on the card.
