Minor MCL Injury
Discussion
I am plagued by minor injuries...
Following a gentle run on Wednesdat evening, I woke up with slight tenderness in the soft tissues on the inner side of both knee joints.
There was never any obvious impact or twist
The left knee recovered within minutes once I'd walked about in the house.
The right knee wasn't painful, but there was a distinct spot that was sore to touch and I occasionally felt it a little whilst walking. I can run and did a grappling session on Thursday(possibly not advisable) without pain. On Friday it appeared to have stiffened up a little. There was some discomfort if I tensed my quads with a straight leg whilst standing.
Having given it a couple of days and iced it on/off during the evenings, it seems to be easing off a bit, although is still a bit stiff after being stationary for a while.
There's no obvious swelling or bruising, though.
I assume that this is a very minor strain/tear of the ligament.
Has anybody else experienced similar?
It means missing out , but is a week of rest from running and twisting(eg. martial arts) activities be likely to see it right?
Would cycling be advisable to allow me to exercise and increase circulation around my knees?
