Go on, blow your own trumpet! Can be an actual great achievement or like mine, just a great personal moment...

Here's mine. Cricket, beer match, about 8 years ago. Batsman hits it in the air, looping high ball, i set off like a hare and at full pelt with a maximum dive took the catch with both hands at full stretch an inch off the ground, totally blind catch ...right in front of the pavilion who initially cheered and then politely clapped...it was a great catch, but could have as easily clocked me on the head...magic

1st in a fair sized triathlon (my first)
1st in a local 3.5 mile running race.
4th in a big National kickboxing competition
Getting barrelled (surfing) at Byron Bay and Hossegor.
Semi finals in a National surf competition
2nd for points in Royal Marines POC (lots of exercises and running around!)

Nice to have something to show for a lifetime of bloody exercising my butt off!

But you'll all hate me even more.

Not much in way of achievements for me really.

6th in the 2013 Police sport uk shore fishing championships out of about 160 anglers (i know some will say its not a sport)

4th out of 60 odd in my local Parkrun just yesterday.

Otherwise I am a bit crap really.

Senior county 800m champion for me (pb too!)
Admittedly the better runners were in the 1500m and some guys didn't turn up but it still felt good, especially as the counties was the first proper track meet that I did probably 4-5 years beforehand.

Next up would probably be my final season playing football. I played with the same team from 8-18 with 5 or so of us from the original group doing every season. For the majority of the time we weren't very good, but towards the end we got better and then in the final season we won pretty much everything we could, including the three trophies mentioned.

Got on the podium at a national level downhill mountain bike race after being sponsored. Not long after I ran out of talent and smashed my leg up in a crash - put the kybosh on any thoughts of racing professionally!

National champion (uk) for San shou (full contact kung fu), not as impressive as it sounds.

Top on the league in my weight class at the Sanshou uk fight promotion from the I've it started to when it folded about three years later.

I won my first motorsport event the other day, running in a standard (ish) Z06 I beat full on race cars (both 4wd, rwd and fwd) all with slicks, stripped out and caged. Usually I'm 3 seconds behind the race cars but the new tyres I put on (Michelin Pilot Supersports) improved my time by 5 seconds and I took the win to get first overall of the whole event!

I was as shocked as everyone else there but I'm very proud of my achievement and everyone said it was hilarious watching me hussle such a big car sideways through such a tight and twisty track!

1st in sack race at school aged 7. I won by quite a margin. Everyone jumped, I just shoved my feet into each corner and found you could 'run'. I have been trying to find clever 'cheats' all my life. Explains a lot!

Scored a goal direct from a corner, no deflections, no rebounds off the woodwork, just a huge great piece of luck and a bit of a wind in my favour.... For reasons unknown I ran the length of the touch line to celebrate with our goalie!

A few come to mind but the silliest was in the last 5 mins of a cup game, in which we were 1 up. The opposition had a corner, the ball bobbled around and came at me , standing on our goal line, so I did what most footballers would do. I did a Cruyff turn to beat the first onrushing attacker, then nutmegged the next, before hitting a 40 yard ball out to the left to our striker. Our manager went nuckin futs at me. smile

Woodford Green AC merged with Essex Ladies AC to create Woodford Green with Essex Ladies (WGEL) AC. I don't run for them any more as my willingness to travel to compete has waned.
