canoeing/kayaking, any one do it?
Discussion
I really like the idea of starting one of these, not sure which one. I enjoy a occasional surf when I can get down to the coast which is not as often as I would like.
I do however have canals around my way so can get to these easier. Is there such a raft that can do both sea/wave and on still water for a relaxing paddle? Also what kind of price would a reasonable one for a starter, should I be thinking £200ish or £600ish?
Thanks all

You might be better off getting 2 secondhand boats rather than trying to compromise with one. My experience of trying to surf in my river boat is that its just too fast, (so I end up going straight to the bottom of the wave and somersaulting) and the edges are too gentle so you can't carve. Conversely, going on a river in my surf boat means paddling very hard to go very slowly, and going backwards every time you stop paddling. I'd look for something like an Inazone for surf and white water, and a magic bat or dancer for canals.
