I'm in need of a small bag for running.

Just enough to store my house keys, phone, and 500ml bottle of water/energy drink.

It will be mainly for cycling use, but need something that won't bounce around too much for the occasional run/jog.

I'm also from Aberdeenshire and therefore a tight . smile

Any recommendations?

Inov8 stuff is good although for your cycling needs it sounds like a bottle cage and pockets would do?

I bought one of these:

You probably want this one:

Mine (15 litre one) was enough for a three day trip around Belgium and I hardly knew it was there, they are stupidly light and really well made. Panniers are for old men with beards!

I was thinking something like this, rather than a full backpack;

Would something like that just annoy the hell out of me as it bounces around when running?

If you're running 10k or less I wouldn't bother with the water. You're not going to die in an hour jogging without water.

depends where you're jogging.

but probably for aberdeenshire, you're right.

For cycling, a cage for the bottle, and one of these for your keys and phone:

The pouch is stretchy and expands. Doesn't bounce when I've used it. Even has loops for energy gel packs if you so feel inclined. Or shotgun rounds. hehe

Maybe, but to be fair 5k is a struggle let alone 10 weeping (which incidentally I'm expected to do at the end of the month for a charity event)

Don't organised events have water stops anyway?

Seriously, running for anything up to an hour in the UK, you shouldn't need any water assuming you're hydrated to start with. I generally run with a house key and that's it - running shorts/leggings have pockets for these. No phone, no water, no gels, no music, no faff. On Friday I'll be running for about 1h50m from home to work and still won't carry any water (but will be carrying phone and work pass having left kit at work on Thurs).

So, for the bike: Water in bottle in cage; keys/phone/tools in saddle bag or jersey pockets.
For the running: Water beforehand and after; phone at home; key in hand or key pocket on kit.

I ran into work from central Bristol today (45mins) and carried work kit in an Inov8 RacePro22 which was comfortable. Still no water carried wink

Probably, but don't think I can persuade them to set up around my area when I'm practising tongue out

Going a bit OT... I'm finding I'm quite thirsty even before 3-5k, I'm drinking a glass of fruit juice/water before I go but then I do sweat a lot even out here in cool Aberdeenshire. Obviously I don't want to drink too much in case of stitches. Any recommendations or should I ask on the running thread?

A small bag would be useful, at least for my keys and phone (all my sports shorts don't have any pockets with them) - that amazon link would probably be ideal.

Jesus Christ. If I ran that long, there'll be no work coming from me for the rest of the day.
