One of the greatest fly-halfs to play the game
Still gives me tingles even after 40 years.

Great communicator.
From pit village to Head of Outside Broadcast via grammar school - it's a journey fewer and fewer will have access to.
Loved his anecdotes on the Radio 4 sport prog every Saturday morning - had just enough to get you interested so you'd go to find the coverage or eagerly anticipate the report in next days' papers.
Another icon shuffles off the perch.
