Currently use a 20 gauge sportster and now looking for a good 20 gauge game gun (must have auto saftey as my current doesn't). Something light weight ideally and not over 2.5K so no Purdys or H & H unfortunatley. I prefer over unders than side by sides.

take a look at the Caeser Guerini range, the Tempio looks smart and is around your budget i think

Its a sporter not a game gun but I'll chuck it on my list as it has a good write up.

what do you want from a game gun? the reason i mentioned the tempio was because i was looking at one recently and it was still fresh in my mind, i think all CGs can be had with auto-safety, and its under 6lb.. hardly a sporter!

Kind of limited to what I can view at work with regards to guns. Review I read didn't mention weight but obviously that is a key factor in any game gun. Also see its available in 28 gauge. I'll stick it at the top as it does look a good gun and not bank manager worringly expensive.

Guessing new by your criteria? Each to his own but if I had 2.5k to spend I'd be looking at something old and English.

Not necessary looking at new guns. Just want something light weight that is easy to carry all day. 20/28 gauge. So I am open to suggestions of good 2nd hand English guns.

Have a look on guntrader and gunstar as well as your local dealer(s). I can't vouch for 20 and 28 but that budget gets you into some nice English stuff. I recently bought a Cogswell and Harrison 12b sidelock for well under your budget. Obviously the choice of guns in your desired calibres will be more limited but I have seen nice English SS's in 20b come up in budget.
