I was saddened to hear of the passing of Graham Murray yesterday after a second heart attack at the age of 58.

Graham was Leeds' coach at a time where Leeds were the perrenial bridesmaids - building you up and letting you down. He built on the work Doug Laughton started indeveloping youth and brought players to Headingley based on ability rather than Ego. Despite only being caoch for two seasons we took leeds to a GF defeat and a challenge cup final win. Even more than that he made leeds a force again at a time when recent seasons had promised much but delivered little, he was a real catalyst.

He handled the media brilliantly and brought an outlook to the game where he supported his players and staff publicly and developed a winning mentality.

A top bloke and a great coach, he will be remembered fondly and respectfully at Headingley.
