British rider Graham Jarvis again wins the www.redbullromaniacs.com one of the toughest sports on the planet.

Does it get a single mention anywhere in the news, no but we have to suffer weeks on end of tennis, football, snooker and other sh!te!

It's a shame because he's such a talented rider and deserves a lot more publicity.

The tiddlywinks world champion doesn't get much coverage, or the lawnmower champion. It doesn't get much coverage because it is a niche sport, only followed by a few.

Why is that hard to understand?

He seems to be falling off in some of those photos, not a very good way to show him off!

Why are some sports niche and others not, sheep mentality maybe?

I think ANY sport whereby a British person does very well should get a mention more often.

Well, probably the same reason you do not watch curling, or tiddly winks. Just mentioning a sport because a British person does well in it is hardly the basis for making a sport popular or not. I'm sure the appropriate website for those sports adequately provide the followers with their news stuff, but if every sport was catered for in the mainstream press, then you would be inundated with stuff you have absolutely no interest in.

It is nothing to do with sheep mentality, merely what gets the most eyes on it.

For you, yes, but for the majority it is catered for.

So uhhh... why include the photos if it isn't the guy you're talking about?

Actually, David Knight received an MBE a year or two back - so it is occasionally recognised. If I remember rightly - he got it the same time as another 2 wheeled Manxman; Mark Cavendish.

I've said before, the dirty/ off road side of motorsport/cycling never received the same as the on road - not sure why that is, but it's usually more spectacular.

It gets no coverage because it sucks to watch.

I lasted 5 mins on those you tube clips before getting bored watching people fall off bikes going up hills. It's hardly 500GP stuff is it - and that doesnt get much coverage in the mainstream either.

T

PS. I've done a zillion trackdays on an R1, enduros on a KTM, etc, etc - I'm not anti the sports....just realise that they dont make great TV/are niche.

Give any sport a huge budget and you can get better camera shots and more exiting action shots.

Is F1 exciting to watch?

BTCC doesn't have a huge budget does it? Or British Superbikes?
