Well it looks like Finn and Broad aren't fit for England, so that is probably us out of the running.

Personally I shall enjoy watching the West Indies Bat, and SA bowl.

Should be a great tournament, not least because it is basically the old world cup format, so all over in three weeks, even the winners would only play (I think five matches)

It is also the 7th and final ICC champions trophy tournament, it is going to be replaced by the ICC world test championship in 2017.

India warmed up in some style today - chased down Sri Lanka's 333 with an over to spare.

Looking forward to good tournament - my money is on India, with South Africa also in the running.

Was a pretty good run chase, India's main concern will be their bowling though.

South Africa are a quality side, but IMO they're going to play the best cricket but when it matters they're going to choke. They always do.

Sri Lanka will be desperate to win this tournament, they have been finalists in the 2007 world cup, 2009 T20 world cup, 2011 world cup and 2012 T20 world cup.

That was funny, worse they may have lost Clarke for the tournament, which is basically 75% of there batting.

A little like England without KP.

So I wrote of Finn and Broad too soon, or was it Englands plan all along. Who really knows.

Our bowling yesterday was far far better, so at home, with a reasonable chance - I'd say we will make a decent go of this.

However, we don't look a solid and flexible as in recent past. A few too many collapses and a couple of panic stricken fielding (bowling) displays.

Wonder whether Cook has a plan B for a fast chase? We look like we are set up (batting wise) to make 230 - 260. Cook, Bell, Trott need to be aiming for 120-130 in the first 25. Not nurdling us to 80 and then get out the first time they play a risky shot.

120 in 25, Then at least you have a chance at a 260 - 300 score.

Indeed, a case study. 101 off 16 overs. None of this "laying a solid platfrom" which is code for nudge singles. These boys have played pretty risk free, normal but aggressive cricket.

Bell (to me) still appears to have performance anxiety, hence he doesn't seem to be able to manage his risk shots properly.

Indians are 120-0 after 20 overs, going along nicely, their bowling is going to have to be top class today against the South African batsmen.

Trott the same. You can't all be hitters I know up the order but the sub continent teams just play with a freedom we haven't got ... brilliant to watch.

India set for a massive total here - the SA bowling attack without Steyn looks ordinary.

Certainly 300 looks nailed on, but I guess a couple of wickets falling in the chase can peg it back quite quickly.

I am going to stick my neck out and say 342. Don't think SA can pull it back, too many wickets in hand

India scored 331. It should really be enough to win this however India might have expected 15-20 more runs given the position they were in after 30 overs.

You're going to lose wickets as the overs decrease normally though ... and the run rate will suffer accordingly usually with new batsmen in etc. I thought they'd be on for 350 maybe if they'd lost three or four less wickets.

No Kallis of course - but on their day the Saffers can chase down big scores but Dhoni is a wily old skipper, changing the field and bowling constantly to keep the batsmen on their toes and I can't see him letting them close. He doesn't let the game *drift* ... always keeping his eye on what is happening 2/3 overs ahead or more as all the best skips do.

India got the Saffers at 184-5 after 32 overs. They need 148 runs to win. Will they do it?
