"Please let us know your favourite cricket commentary moments in the comments below. The best will be broadcast in 'Voices of summer' on BBC Radio 5live on Thursday from 20:00-22:00 BST. "

Rarely do I read through the comments on the BCC articles but thoroughly enjoyed the pages for this one, different ppl remembering back through the ages to the various thoughts, wonderings, musings and tales from the TMS team.

As an ex pat now and as a summer ex-pat in France growing up with only a knackered Akai tape deck and LW radio I cannot place a value on TMS, it is priceless. The BBC gets a lot of stick on ph, but with TMS and now the txt commentary it produces sublime brilliance. Ive enjoyed 30 yrs of TMS, I thoroughly look forward to the next 30.

My favourites are always when the Windies are in town and Sir Viv joins the team and the immortal CMJ.

I trust I am amongst fellow disciples of TMS?

Indeed

Though these days I think Vaughan is excellent. I listen to it at work, when I can't watch.

TMS used to have too many old curmudgeons droning boringly on about how much better everything was "in my day", but it has been better than ever in recent years under Adam Mountford's leadership.

Aggers is not just one of the finest commentators in any sport, he is in my view the best broadcaster in the country. Vaughan is now as good a pundit as he was a player and captain. Boycott can be excellent when he drops the self-parody act and analyses the game. CMJ has left a gap which can never be filled, but Ed Smith has made an encouraging start. As for Blowers, he knows more about cricket in the 1950's than the modern game, but he adds character.

Long may TMS continue.

The 20min stints and ever changing cast of characters just works so well.

The erudite, calm, composed nature of the majority of the commentators then contrasts so well when Boycs comes on and when Sir Viv is around, they simmer with barely restrained raging at incompetence. Whispering Death does something similar on Sky. Have to admit though I watch the NZ innings on Sky yesterday...Bumble and Gower were perfect together.

Hear hear.

I do love Tuffers also - listening to him and Blofeld together is a rare treat.
