Failing to get tickets for Olympics Anniversary Athletics
Discussion
Olympics Anniversary Athletics event (don't know precise name) at the Olympics Stadium, weekend of 26th to 28th July.
Been trying to get tickets and failed.
This is what happened:
It started off weeks and weeks ago when we put our names down for priority tickets, and were given an email link for using on the day when tickets would actually be on sale - which was today, 10.00am.
So come the magic moment, we hit the ticket-sales site, entered our requirements, clicked the button and watched the time-to-wait counter roll down through 5 mins, 4 mins, 3 mins .... and then it crashed and we found ourselves off the 'net. So we started over again, and this time it counted down fom 10 mins, before crashing again. So we logged on for a third time, and this time the time-to-wait started off at 11 mins - and stuck there, and stuck there .... with a foreboding message telling us that if we tried to refresh, or move away from that page, then the link would be lost and we would have to start again.
After nearly 2 hours (I kid you not) of this unchanging screen we gave up, sweared a bit, then sweared a lot more.
We finally had another try later in the afternoon, and this time we were just blanked out with some message along the lines of 'no more tickets available'.
So that's it - no tickets. Utterly bloody frustrating.
So does this match anybody else's experience, and did anybody (else) actually manage to secure tickets?
