Whats your prediction for this years masters then?

I think Bubba Watson @ 33/1 is good value

Can't see Rory or Tiger getting close

Seriously you can't see Tiger getting close? He's had 3 wins in 4 starts this season and always plays well at Augusta.

It's got his name all over it if you ask me smile

Think it will be interesting this year. I have had a flutter on quite a few differernt players (Tiger being one). My outside bets would be Justin Rose or Matt Kuchar, but who knows!!! :-)

Louis Oost is a good bet, been playing well lately and as we all know he nearly won it last year!!

Louis Oost -coming into good form, has played well at Augusta before, not a bad price at current odds

Adam Scott - course form, played well on PGA tour a couple wks back (leading before fell back at wkend), not played too much this year so will be mentally fresh, has 5 top11 finishes in last 8 majors, and after last years Open it would be a fairy tale for him to come back and win this major

Odds for Woods are so low , it's not worth betting on him.

Schwartzl, Webb Simpson e/w and Hunter Mahan as outside bets

Last time the World No1 won it was Woods 10 years or so ago.

10 of the last 13 winners ( or something along those lines ) surnames have ended in 'M' or 'W' - Woods , Watson, Michelson etc....

I'm full of useless information like that smile

it is for me one of the sporting highlights of any year - so realxing, yet so captivating and intense at times...

as for a winner its very open if you ask me, feels like its really early in teh season this year for some reason.

Oost is a good bet, he likes the course which suits those that are a bit wayward off the tee as well as the accurate drivers.

it will come down to iron approaches, bunkers and putting.

I'd love for Rose to win a major and he has the all round game without being spectacular - you might just need that spark of imagination...

Donald is coming into form and he has the short game and putting...

e/w i'd take

oost, donald, scott, Day, and a wildcard of westwood (although he'll never win a major as he doesn't putt well enough).

I'd love to see Donald win it but can't see it.....it's a course that rewards length as hitting shorter clubs into greens is a big advantage at Augusta. He has of course got a superlative short game though. I also think players that take risks and have a bit of imagination can do well....Mickelson, Woods, Watson are all players that take a course on...Donald and Rose are to me more players that negotiate a course.

Good point. Although I feel that only applies on the last day at Augusta. If you can just stay in contention and respect the course for the first three days scoring playing 'Par golf', maybe sneaking a round or two in the red, then it puts you in a great position (probably in the last half dozen groups) to attack on the final day.

I have booked the whole weekend off work and can't wait for the tournament to satrt! smile

Not all long hitters win there, ask Zach Johnson. Didn't go for a single par five in two all week and played some of the best strategic golf possible...

Just made my bets for this year. Not a big better so gone £2 each way on them all.

Tiger @ 7/2 so just to cover the bets.

Louis Oost @ 25/1.

And Thorbjorn Olesen as an outsider @ 125/1.

Oh absolutely it's just I think an advantage at Augusta more so than most other courses since they "tiger proofed" it.....we all know there are many holes where you have water in front, can't go over the back and need to be below the hole to have a chance of making par.

I'd love to know what the stats are for making par at Augusta if you miss the green versus other courses.....I imagine it's a big difference

I agree that it's a long hitters course but not as much as it used to be. You've just got to be so precise with your iron play and putt like god, oh and chip well and pitch well....in fact feck it you've just got to be awesome biggrin

My mates reffing there again this year and once again will get to play the course on the monday after the tournament...massive git!!

I feel Tiger is back, in a big way this year. To be ran close by Bubba!

My lad is predicting Justin Rose.
