Two heavy test defeats for the Aussies so far, the second of which was almost embarrassing to watch! lol

The Indian batsmen have been filling their boots - fantastic double hundred by MS Dhoni in the first test, achieved with a strike rate well in excess of 80.

Looking forward to Australia coming over here - unless they sort themselves out rather sharpish, they'll be in a whole heap of trouble.

wink

Declared first innings...lost before tea on day 4.
One is trying not to pee oneself with laughter smile

Only really Pup that is batting, nobody is bowling. Come back the Mitchell Johnson of 2009...all is forgiven smile

I think they'll do ok here. I think they have a decent enough attack for english conditions and Ashes is like Ind v Pak anyway, so even mediocre squads punch well above their weight...

I would dearly love for the Aussie team to give the Indians a good run for their money in the coming tests though. These 'easy' wins tend to get them in to a false sense of security as happened with the NZ series before Eng came over to India...

Yep a couple of rather severe floggings, no more can be said because there have been few redeeming performances to give a glimmer of hope for this series.

It was interesting to note that the Indian commentators suggested that our attack would be rather useful in better conditions. ( anywhere but the sub continent )

As for the declaration, no issues there even if the outcome did make history. XD wasn't going to score many but potentially wast a lot of time so the outcome of the declaration was two cracks with the new ball which did gain one wicket but unfortunately that only seemed to upset the locals who then ripped us to bits.

Im sure your attack would be useful in better conditions, i.e. English conditions. Unfortunately that begs the question of how good do you think Jimmy and co will be in those conditions...?

We know how useful Jimmy is.

The question will be how useful Pattison will be and whether our batting can give the bowlers something to bowl at!

Crims have achieved a world first!

First team to ever declare on first innings then get clobbered with an innings defeat!

Really? I thought this looked like being the weakest Aussie bowling attack for a long time!

They "seem2 to think they have an okay pace attack....the batting is the weak spot ex Clarke. Can't read too much into India....those with good memories will remember England got clobbered in the first test with only one spinner and Swanny is miles better than anything the Aussies have.

Apart from your guys scoring some runs which ours quite patently haven't it was Monty that ultimately made the difference for you in India not Swann.

( Monty also won the 2005 ashes for you with his batting in Cardiff )

Don't discount our pace attack, Cummings and Byrd are both missing but will be back for the main game.

Cummings is quicker than Pattinson and Byrd is a McGrath clone and both of them swing the ball as well.

Roll on the ashes and some proper banter

Indeed. As I pointed out we got clobbered in the first test with only one spinner which was Swann.

It's embarrassing the way the Aussies play spin bowling. 'Foot planted and hit across the line' seems to be the only way they know how to tackle spin.

England should prepare rank turners for the next Ashes series and let Monty and Swann loose.

EFA

Monty & Swann is like Warne & McGill, McGill outperformed Warne pretty much every time they took the field together but McGill's problem was that almost everyone in Oz cricket hated his guts and Warne was a better bat and fieldsman ( sound sorta familiar )

Why did they dislike him? This is a hidden part of Aus cricket culture we know little about.

He was a total knob head fast bowler in a spin bowlers body ( and he preferred wine to beer )

Lovely! And one of them is Shane Watson - the vice captain - oh dear. I never liked that sulky bd.

Roll on the summer - 10-0 Bumble reckoned on the tele the other night - that WOULD be humiliation.

Not going down well at home.

Seems that there is a growing sentiment that Mickey Arthur ought to be the one going home.

There have been a few mischievous tweets that the reason the four have been stood down is that they all suggested that the coach ought to be changed.... hehe

Hilarious to watch the convicts implode. Arthur should be fired immediately. His team's failure is his responsibility and his response to it is pathetic. He's clearly lost the dressing room and suspending 4 players including the vice captain is a knee jerk attempt to get it back. FAIL! rofl
