Hi All

New to this area. Need to get a heart rate monitor. Its a really easy one this.

All I need is a heart rate monitor to wear while I swim which I can then download the details time distance and obv heart rate to my laptop to a diary as it were to track my fitness progress. In the end I will be moving to weight and cycle training (gym) which will also need tracking.

Any ideas?

Have a look at Garmin's site . . . http://www.garmin.com/en-GB - as far as I know, if you want to record heart data you'll have to go for their 310 or 910XT which aren't exactly cheap (approx £200 & £300ish respectively).

If it's just swim data you want (indoor, not open water), their Garmin swim is excellent and not too dear at just over a hundred quid - I can vouch for that piece of kit as I've got one!

You cannot wear the heart rate monitor on the 910 while swimming. Possibly the same for the other one.

correct. I have the 310, and whilst the watch is waterproof, the Heart rate monitor is not!
