Bit of a nightmare I have a decent sit second hand Saloman boots however they were never fitted to me and last two ski holidays they have been agony. Anyway am getting them remoulded Eric but have discovered in one boot its missing the base plate inside the boot!!!!! Boots are 5 years old and in very good condition.

Been quoted c£100 to get them to fit better but clearly without the base plate (what's its proper name?) its an utter waste of time.

Can these be bought?

Or would I be better off down decathlon and pick up a set of New Head boots for £90?

We bought the kids their own boots this year as they are a bit older and feet have nearly stopped growing.
We went to snow and rock in August last year and got both pairs (adult boots) with custom heat fit and new insoles for £220.
Normal in season selling price would have been over £400 for both pairs so a substantial saving and good quality mid range boots fitted for their feet.

There really is no need to buy used boots when you can get new fitted last season boots for £100' ish.

If by baseplete you mean the footbed (insole) you can buy off the shelf self moulding ones for about £15, or you can get custom fitted moulded ones for about £25-30. Even if you buy new boots I would recommend custom ones as they make so much difference.

Also talk to the fitter about where they hurt as you may have them tensioned incorrectly - too tight/too loose in the wrong places.
