Really not sure where to put this thread, but sunglasses are used in sports so I have more of a chance of help I suppose! smile

I was wondering if there is anywhere that do aftermarket replacement Oakley lenses?

I have a pair of halfwire 2.0 Oakleys I got with my own prescription put into a transition lens. Just got a new pair pair of glasses with a new subscription which makes these completely defunct!

Oakley quote £148 to send them back to fit black polarised lenses! You can buy the glasses for less.

This will probably go nowhere, but worth a go!

Thanks.

I had a look around, looks like Oakley have discontinued my actual frame but you can pick them up for not much over £120. Found an american ebay shop that sell an aftermarket lense for them for £40.

Pretty much worthless really! frown

I collect Oakleys. You can go on eBay and find the lenses a lot cheaper, or have a look in the factory stores dotted around the UK.

The problem with half wires is that they are supra frames - no bottom rims - so you may be able to buy spare lenses but you still have to attach them - probably why Oakley charge what they do. To compare full retail for a pair of half jacket polarised iridium lenses is around £95.
On reflection I don't think I have sent any of these back for new lenses and they are now NLA as whole pairs. They didn't do them as an rx option for a long time presumably for the same reason.
They aren't held in with the usual piece of cord so I have a feeling they must be glued in - changing them isn't going to be easy.
If you wish I'll speak to Oakley tomorrow and ask.

When I was in the opticians they directly rang Oakley, I think their quote was around £148 to send them back and get fitted with the polarised lenses. frown

Would the frames be worth anything on there own? I'm only looking at swapping the lenses to sell them on really, I don't think I'll use them.

Sorted myself out with a nice pair of Oakley Transistor Ducati's! smile
