Just a heads up that the London Diamond league event which was scheduled to be held over two days at Crystal Palace on 26/27 July has been moved to the Olympic Stadium. Not sure if its still a two day event or just a one day event now though. Either way, its going to be epic and will hopefully reinforce the requirements for a proper athletics stadium in London which can remain in situ until the 2017 World Championships....

Tickets out soon, UKA and Ticketmaster are having to sort out those of us who already had tickets for Crystal Palace before you lot can apply! wink

And I'm in France. Bugger!

Being in the stadium for Mo's second gold and the Jamaican relay WR was one of the greatest days of my life.

Was about to buy tickets for CP before it changed. Wish I had now as they get priority on the new tickets. Buggers!

I hope they are not a) extortionate and b) sold out before I get there.

There are significantly more seats in the Olympic Stadium than at CP so you should be OK thumbup

There is a new article out in the last day or so which says they are relaxing the tax rules to try and encourage Usain Bolt and others to compete at this event. Could be like a mini Olympics without all the horsey events!

So they have updated the site to change the name of the event to "British Athletics London Anniversary Games" and the venue to "Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park" but you still can't buy any fking tickets.

What are they playing at?

Shouldnt be too much longer, technically they have already sold 40,000 seats to those who bought tickets when it was scheduled to be held at Crystal Palace and UKA announced that they would get priority so they have to sort out those people first, which is only fair, then put the rest on sale. Thats 40,000 tickets over 2 days though and not everyone will take up the offer so there should be at least 120,000 tickets over the two days put on sale. Last I heard they were sorting out ticket/seating configurations given its still a Diamond League event so have to meet some pre-existing obligations etc.

Pre-register for tickets if you havent already done so, I'd be surprised if it doesnt sell out in a day.

I think there are tickets for the Birmingham Diamond Leage event earlier in the year available at the Alexander Stadium. Only a one day event but normally a very high calibre of athletes attend...

Seems like they are negotiating with Bolt at the moment and I guess they want him confirmed before tickets go on sale to guarantee a sell out. Quite annoyed tbh, Bolt isn't the only athlete in the world and it will sell out regardless, pandering to hs ego belittles the event. He should [i] want[\i] to be there regardless of any tax breaks on offer though I suspect there are more people than just Bolt making money from this who want their 10%..

I've got mine....tried applying for Friday and Sat a the same time on different tabs on my brower which it didn't like. Got knocked back for cheaper tickets so have ended up with Diamond tickets....looks like we're pretty close to the finishing line.

Really wanted to get on that side of the stadium as we were lucky enough to go to the Olympics but were on the other side of the stadium and you do feel a bit remote for the finishes of the sprints etc.

I kept getting service unavailable messages but eventually it popped up. It seems the link in the email is going via a intermediary system, some CRM system which is redirecting to Ticketmaster. Once you do get to the ticket master site it was fine.
