Lot of money or not?

Hiya,
I'm just watching the cricket and seen the man of the series and some other award,
Me and my girlfriends dad couldn't get to grips what the prize money amount meant?
It was a sign which I couldn't understand and then the amount was 2,50,000 I think, on the India vs England match what would this mean? Please help it's bugging us!

If I remember correctly from QA checking tablets made in India they write their numbers differently so the 2,50,000 is 250,000. Which if Rupe is about £3,000 so maybe it is £.
