Do not think NZ enjoyed Day 1 in Cape Town. Win toss and all out before lunch for 45! SA 252 for 3 at close. 5 for 7 by Philander and 103 not out by Peterson.

Not at all! Given the way the NZCB are behaving recently, it would be no surprise to learn the team are doing this on purpose to drive home certain points.

VP bowled supremely well though, have to admit.

Care to elaborate? I'm not up to speed on NZCB politics.

SA have declared, NZ trail by 302 and are one down with no runs on the board. Looks like same again

All over before tea on day 3, SA win by innings and 25 runs. But only after a much better NZ performance. And it must be said some sloppy cricket from SA especially in the catching department.

I can't remember seeing a weaker NZ top 6.

It's a shame. I always enjoyed watching NZ for some of the quirkier stars of the world game.

Day 2 of 2nd test, SA have declared on 575 for 8, after Hash, Faf , and Elgar got 100's. Let's see if NZ can avoid the follow on!

There is something very special about 4 slips, gully and a short leg, with three fast bowlers all aproaching 150 kph. Loving SA test cricket at the moment.

Can't see saffers needing to bad again. This is a poor NZ team not much better than Bangladesh. They don't have a big player pool to pick from or seem to have any young talent coming through. Added to some poor management can't see any light at the end of the tunnel for NZ cricket.

What an afternoon for SA have NZ at 47 for 6 at stumps on day 2.

So that'll be the follow-on enforced then.

Another great performance by Steyn-what a player he is. To average 23 (with one of the best strike rates of all time) in this era of flat pitches and generally batsman friendly conditions has to put him up there with the best fast bowlers ever.

NZ did well to finish up at 121.

Its quite painful to watch a once decent team be taken to the cleaners so often. SA pace attack by far the best in the world, but the application of the batsmen that I've seen in this series is woeful.

I realise NZ has a pretty limited talent pool to work with, but the administration and coaching team need a complete reappraisal of their approach.

Feeling a little sorry for NZ being blasted by an attack keen to play well at home after such a long break. But very impressed by Watling in this match, he deserves a long run in the NZ team.

If NZ were a newly qualified test status nation from 2nd tier ICC teams, on current performances you'd say they'd been brought in too early.

Wow, Steyn and Morkel are being effective with the 2nd new ball. Match all but over in a heartbeat, only "white flag" Patel and Wagner left

SA win by a dig and 193 runs. 2nd new ball took 5 in 5.4 overs, some very effective bowling!
