Team/Club Management software

posted here rather than under computing etc to hopefully catch people who play a lot of sport and involved with some clubs!
Has anyone got any recommendations for decent web based team/club management solutions - eg team selection, notification, availability, multi-team consolidated fixture lists (incorporated into club calendar) etc.
Before anyone mentions Pitchero - we are yet to find anyone using it for a lot of the above due to
a) notification methods for team selection being rubbish
b) no consolidated club fixture list etc
c) difficult to incorporate anything non-Pitchero (eg embedding forms etc)
If you do have experience of making Pitchero work, please let me know!
Hitssports used to work for the cricket club I'm involved with but the "look and feel" of Pitchero was preferred by certain club PR people - however, that was without considering the issues I've mentioned above.
All suggestions welcomed. We need to keep costs down so the cheaper the solution, the better.
