With my 11 week old daugher consuming all my spare time, I am not training anywhere as much as I would like. This has lead me to consider ways in which I can train with her (when she is a little older). Has anyone used a running pram before, and if so what are your thoughts/recommendations?

Initial thought is that it will be strange running with my arms out rather than swinging to my side but I am sure you get used to that?

Also I'm 6'3" - is there plenty of space to swing my long legs?

Thanks PH!

I do one of my weekend runs with a pram. You get used to it quite quickly, and if it's on tarmac it doesn't change your speed that much.

Can't really recommend a specific buggy, I use our Bugaboo with the offroad wheels. They don't pivot, so it's ideal for pushing one handed. My son (now 10 months) just falls asleep.

The biggest problem I have, and this will depend where you live, is that I can't run anywhere without having to go up and down kerbs from home. I have to go the main park in town which has a smooth path around the outside. It's very limiting, and you end up doing the same route all the time.

But it gets it done!!

We have an Out n About Nipper that is fine for jogging, also handy for trekking across mountains as we found out hehe You can lock the front wheel which makes it more stable for running smile

I've got one of these beauties for my two (4 and 2):

I bought it cheap off ebay. I use it most weekends at my local parkrun - there's quite a few parents doing the same.

"Kool Stop Lil Deuce"

There are other similar buggies in the market. Having big wheels helps.

I find it quite comfortable to run with, and not much slower. It adds about 2 min to my 5k time.
