I am not particularly into running but need to exercise more than I have been doing.

My exercise regime has been pretty non existent over the last few years due to ankle and lower leg pain. Diagnosed with arthritis in my ankles I was referred to a podiatrist, who also subsequently diagnosed me with quite severe over pronation. I was prescribed with insoles for my shoes which seem to have helped significantly (I have gone from taking 3 x 600mg ibuprofen a day down to none at all)

I would like to, slowly but surely, start building exercise back up to help me lose some weight but was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on some properly supportive trainers. I am also very limited in my choices as I have very wide feet (I use Asics a lot of the time for this reason)

I am quite limited in my budget and cannot really afford more than £50-£60

Any advice much apprciated

Find a decent local running shop.

As above really, a good running shop will take your needs into account & will be able to show you various brands etc to find the right shoes - hopefully. If you get on with them, then you're bound to find cheaper online next time around...

Do you have a Sweatshop local to you? I was having pains in my foot down the side, so went there and had my gait analysed and some moulded insoles made up and new shoes recommended based on the video of me running on the treadmill.

No pain at all since! Can't recommend getting it done enough!
