I played 9 holes at Urban Golf in Soho last night and was surprised and impressed about how much fun it was. The driver I used was a TaylorMade RocketBallz which I absolutely loved and am considering buying.

My question is around the accuracy of the equipment used to measure swing etc at this type of facility, am I right in thinking it is the same used at American Golf etc when you try clubs before you buy?

Thanks

http://www.urbangolf.co.uk/our-simulators

Looks good fun! they claim the simulator is exclusive to them.

I've found that simulators in shops vary wildly (they mainly give you a few extra yards to help sell the equipment!!), the ones at American Golf do seem quite accurate though.

The Rocketballz seems very popular and the 3-wood is supposed to be brilliant, I just cant get over the white-ness though and how it might stand up to a lack of cleaning!!

It's very good I think....for some reason though I think irons are more accurate than woods.

It was started by a couple of pro's who worked at the course I used to be a member of. I actually used to have lessons there as it was conveniant for me midweek as I live and work in central London.

The putting is the worst bit if you are playing a round but it's still great fun and good enough practice overall.

and you can drink (heavily!) whilst playing!
Had a great time at the one near Liverpool St station a couple of years ago, before moving onto rather a nice steak meal at Gauchos.

Agreed, the putting is definitely the worst bit as it feels totally un-natural.
