I thought he was meant to be an important presenter during the Olympics.

He sacked off his f1 role for what? The occasional piece from the cycling?

Seems like he got given the short straw this time. A move to the sky sports f1 team would have made more sense.

Eh? He seemed to be on it a lot on the second channel. He was anchor last night for instance when Inverdale was lording it about in the stadium.

He anchored most evenings on BBC3 and quite a bit on BBC1 / BBC2 as well.

He's been on plenty and he's impressed lots..

Telegraph has an interesting review of the presenters here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/tv-a...

Jake should have had the anchor role held by Lineker, who as was out of his depth IMO.

Jake Humphrey always looks hopelessly confused to me.

Why they gave the 6th form head boy the plum F1 job has always baffled me...

He doesn't seem to have a clue about any sport he presents, why is he even a sports presenter?

I agree. Lineker is fine presenting football, but whenever he talks to anyone from a different sport it feels like he glosses over it, like he's saying "we know the audience don't really care about this, we'll get back to the footy soon."

Jake's great.

Blimey. I must be watching a different bloke called Jake. The one I watch is constantly knowledgeable about what he's commenting on, is articulate, genial and a generally top bloke. I agree that he should have been the lynchpin, but Gary Lineker is a bigger name so he was bound to get it. I think he did a good job too, but Jake is the man for future events.

He missed one race. F1 is on its 5 week mid-season break.

Also he is a BBC Presenter, I doubt very much he gets a huge say in what he is doing when they have the Olympics.

I thought he was one of the better ones. He had a very busy time (and was therefore very visible to those watching the races) with Cavendish and Boardman in the cycling arena which was pretty hectic for a good week! Was quite funny when he kissed Cavendish on the side of the head - they built up quite a good rapport with the co-presenters despite Cavo being reminded about missing out on a medal, over & over again.

Getting far too big for his boots in the F1. His over familiarity with the drivers is grating - He clearly thinks he's a mega star now because he's all matey with LH and JB, fine when DC does it and to the same extent EJ because they have some pedigree in racing. Show some deference man - your job is to present a show about F1 not a show about you in F1. Only seems to be this season though, the previous two years where they were a bit meeker and clearly unsure of how they were being percieved were far more agreeable. Just need to tone it back a bit, but clearly his success has gone to his head.

Just announced that he will leave the BBC at the end of this F1 season to go to BT and present their football coverage for 2013-14.

I wonder who they will get to replace him?

Looks like now he didnt jump ship to Sky because he wanted to stay with BBC for the Olympics. As soon as that is over, run to BT Vision??

Shame he didn't go to Sky to replace Lazenby.
