Hi when the olympics are finished will the venues be open to look around.
My mother is 80 and just wants to see the venues mainly the main stadium and the veladrome as she has never seen or been anything remotely like them.
Thanks

I don't know the answer, but in order to get into the park and have a look we've bought £20 tickets for the paras.

What's the long term plan for the park? I know the stadium is being decided layer but places like the swimming and velodrome are they staying or being demolished?

The swimming pool has got large temporary "wings" for the games to add extra seating capacity...they are going to be removed after the games.

The main stadium may well be a different size by the time the World Atletics championships are held there...only the lower tier is permenant. It's been designed to be re-sized.

Blimey, didn't realise quite how much was temporary. Seems a shame to take it down?

I'm heading down to London next Wednesday morning (15th) will I be able to pay a small gate fee for a look around? - have to be elsewhere in London lunchtime so only have a couple of hours to spare. Or can you see a lot of the structures via the streets in Stratford?

I think the Olympic Park closes on Sunday night (12th) after the Closing Ceremony and doesn't reopen until the Paralympics begins at the end of the month (29th). Obviously they want to get it secure in the meantime (but at a tenth of the security resources currently used) and of course they will be busy preparing the park for the Paralympics.

I believe parts can be seen from the surrounding area though, particularly the John Lewis store at Westfield Stratford.
