I’ve just been looking at the various online press reports of our wins and I’ve clicked onto a few links. It would appear that there are a number of claims out there as to who generated this medal-fest.

Some suggest that it is private education. Johnson suggests it is the tory party. Cameron, I think, wants it to be conservative values. Others say different things. I’ve yet to find one article that suggests it is due to the hard work of the athletes themselves.

I reckon that there is little doubt that the success of Team GB is down to those who post on internet forums. Had it not been for us . . .

Edited to add the Lottery I've jsut discovered.

Don't forget it was Cherie Blair that won us the right to host the games.

Anyone care to photoshop his face on all the winners as they cross the finish line?

It has to be Steve Redgrave. Everyone is doing it for him. The main motivation for winning a gold is to meet him at the finish line where he'll help you carry the burden of your glory.
