Olympic Football Final Tickets

Plea for help. I 'bought' two tickets for the men's final on Saturday only to loose them due to the LOCOG computer system timing out whilst my payment was being confirmed -because of this the tickets disappeared back into the mess that is LOCOG ticketing system.

I logged straight back in only to fail to get any more tickets.

My 7 year old son is heartbroken as he thought he was going to Wembley - has anyone got two tickets for Saturday's final that they cannot use?

I know it's a forlorn hope & a somewhat stupid question however if you don't ask......

You told your son between payment request and confirmation?

He was watching as I made the purchase. The website confirmed that I had the tickets & then the system timed out about before the confirmation email from LOCOG was released meaning that the tickets did not stay in my basket & I lost them.

I am well aware of the queue of disappointment however he was standing next to me so he knew exactly what was going on.

To say he was/is upset is an understatement.

It's a bummer but other than some tickets I acquired months back I've got nothing despite trying every day.

I have been trying to get some tickets for any event in London since the games started - also unable to get any in the initial release so gutted to have missed out on Saturday although did two late last week for Friday night.

Going to Cardiff for the bronze medal play off however wanted to see an event in London & was elated to 'get' the tickets for Saturday night.

You can imagine how my 7 year old felt when he realised we werent going on Saturday. I wasn't too happy either!!!

I remember a similar thing happened to me

8 years old

thought I was going to the 1996 FA CUP FINAL

agent who said he had the tickets lost out on his allocation

i got £100 ( 1000 Wham Bars in 8 yr old terms ) as consolation and watched it on TV

then 3 years later i was at the 1999 Heineken Cup Final and all was forgiven

Thanks for moving the thread from GG.

I made the post there in the hope that someone might be able to assist as not everyone ventures onto the sports section.

I was banking on someone in GG not being able to make it to Wembley on Saturday. Not much hope of that happening i know but if you don't ask you don't get.

Not impressed tbh that the thread was moved even though i understand that it's a sports related thread.

Oh well. Onwards & upwards as they say.

SemI final at Wemley was 'sold out'.

Row upon row of empty seats & it was like that since kick off. Why? Can't imagine it's down to representatives of Mexico & Japan not turning up.....
