Hard to believe that beach volleyball or synchronised swimming or tennis or football are events more deserving than netball for a place in the Olympics.

Sport selection seems a bit random.

There quite a few sports that should be in and some that should not! I think gig rowing would be a great entry to the olympics! and football should definately go.

I guess the US money is important - US broadcasters pais $1.2B for the tv rights I think.

You would think that well bodied women in little skirts would be good tv - it is little different to womens hockey as a treat to the eye - and quite a fast paced, interesting sport - much better to watch than basketball imo.

I like the fact the Olympics has many 'minor' sports, and where the Olympics is the top event for them.

I do not think football should be anywhere near the Olympics, neither should tennis. I also find it odd that golf is coming for the next Olympics!

Netball - do men play? The IOC tend only to include sports that both men and women compete at (women's boxing being the final women's half of a sport to be added). So squash would have a good shout (has it been in and dropped? I seem to remember watching some in a previous Olympics) but netball not so much if it's women only.

Golf, Football, Tennis - wouldn't be in my Olympics as I don't believe Olympic Gold is the highest honour in those sports. That criteria may bring up questions about Road Cycling too though...

Women now have the upper hand as there is now a Women Only "sport" in the Olympics - Synchronised Swimming. It should either now be turfed out - or men be allowed to compete.
