This looks fun, I need to get some of it! biggrin
I've messed about with small stunt kites etc before but nothing serious like these puppies. They look like awesome fun!
I'm only about 5ft 8 though and 10 stone so want to start off with somethign manageable, was thinking of going second hand.. Should I start on a 2 or 4 line kite? Not looking to spend the earth and this kite will just be used to practice before I move upto a bigger/more deadly kite..

Any pointers would be helpful? smile

Decide whether you want lift or traction (very different characteristics), and whether you want it to inflate from water (not all will).... 4 line every time IMO

I use a 3m Flexifoil Bullet for scudding around in fields and on the beach etc... more than enough oomph to get the blood running with any breeze but also controlled/precise enough to tease beach dawgs and to park overhead for a breather (although it did drag me face down up a hill one gusty day much to the amusement of the then GF's kids once). By no means a jumping kite but it's had me well off the deck or more often running with b-i-i-i-i-i-g steps frequently Great fun cool

Get something around 4-5m. A flexifoil blade 4.9m is a good kite. You will want something that can get you air and that will but is controllable too.
