So, will the SA team claim number 1 test spot, or will the SA/Eng team retain their place as the top hybrid test playing 'national' team?

hehe

Think the home advantage is the edge we need to win the series, appreciate the Oval might suit SA but if it is cloudy or swinging then I think Broad, Anderson will cash in.

Swann could also be a factor as spin is probably the area where we have a clear advantage over them.

Is Kallis going to keep as well, that might also tip things our way.

See John loads of positives and I haven't even mentioned 'our' Saffers .....

I think it will be an interesting series.

Conditions will be important, and it looks like a few more months of st weather, so I'd give the hybrids the edge.

I assume John you will have to hope England beat the Saffers, since if SA win then imagine what they might do to Australia...

I just hope the cricket is good quality and isn't marred by odd decisions, bad weather etc.

Should be entertaining if there are no rain issues.

There is going to some seriously competitive cricket played. Conditions will suit us but their seam attack is a good one and I reckon it's going to be a cracking 3 games, shame it's not more, looking forward to it. England to win the series of course biggrin

Why on earth would they schedule just 3 matches between the top two ranked test playing teams? Really rubbish management of the game - but I suppose though the crowds will be decent at Lords and the Oval, it may struggle a bit in the regions to fill seats.

Agree. All about the money. Too much one day stuff this summer(summer??). Should have been a 5 match test series. No arguement, top 2 sides in the world. Crazy.

Without wanting to sound smart about it, when this was scheduled the teams probably weren't the top two in the world.

For mine all series amongst tier one nations should be 5 tests, I'm not a fan of the 3 & 3 home and away series that we in Oz play against SA & NZ.
