Seem to be a few golf threads on here at the moment so whats everyones prediction for this weekend?

Cant see Rory retaining his title given his recent form although last weekends performance was a big improvement (made the cut for the 1st time in the last 4 starts).

Tiger? should do well but not going to win it for me.

Westwood - Would love to see him win and could do if he putts well.

Donald - Hmm not sure. He just doesnt seem to figure in the majors.

I think Ricky Fowler could be worth a punt.

I'd like to think that Lee will do well ....and he could if he can hole some putts.....but I think he needs to hit his approach shots a bit closer, sometimes he leaves himself quite a way from the hole even though he has hit the green in regulation.

Jason Day is pretty consistant in majors so could be a bet..

Rory ....not sure he has got it this year..

Tiger ...you can never count him out, and he seems to have some game back at times .....might have a wee wager on him.

The course though is a beast and has arguably the best 6 opening holes in major golf .....

Could be an outsider ....u never know.

I think Donald has it in him, he is in good form and has been for some time i think jason day is a good punt, fowler seems to be inconsistent of late, rory too.

westwood - you never know, his putting under pressure lets him down over four rounds...could be an outsider that comes through.

Dustin Johnson could go close after a comeback win although the track record of previous week winners going into majors is poor - he looked very relaxed and comfortable thoguh..

One from....

Johnson
Mayhan
Day
Donald
Westwood

Forgot about Poulter.

I can see him winning a major in the next few years, probably before Donnald as he seems to perform better in the majors.

Might have a look at his odds.

You have seen Donald's stats for majors lately? Comprehensively better than Poulter.

I think a US player will win this one, although wouldn't mind seeing Kaymer find his groove again.

F Molinari for a top 10 finish also please!

10 hours of coverage tomorrow!! Many names mentioned already. Would be outstanding should Rory keep it together and defend successfully. I imagine Jason Duffner's odds are pretty good?

Read a few interviews with players about how tough it is to hit fairways @ Olympic, lots of doglegs with the fairways tilting the wrong way so you'd have to favour a good driver who hits it big as I can see lots of them having to hit fairway woods/hybrids off the tee.

That should rule Tiger out unless he keeps his driver in the bag all week and relies on the stinger.

Should favour Westy, Rory and dare I say Sergio as a dark horse?

Dufner on fire at the moment, hottest golfer on the planet I think.

Donald's worst part of game is driving, can see him struggling.

if that is the case then shorter off the tea and good iron play might do well...

westwood and donald have both been playing very well fairway to green this year...

I'm sure it will be exciting whatever happens though

What a seriously hard course.
Sould be interesting. Can't see it British, if it is then hope it's Donald....proper guy. Unlike Westwood, who's prickly arrogance grates continually.

Tiger sounded very much in control.

The 14 year old American kid did ok. After a poor start he played the last 13 holes in one over.

best putter to win this i think having watched a few hours this evening...

kinda rules out westy...

kuchar? mahan?

woods looked conservative and solid - what club did he hit to his or the 4th, the low r-l draw? great shot...

177 yards earlier to the first by rory 9 iron.....9. iron. my 9 goes 110, 120 on a good day....

True that! I've tried very hard to like him but just can't. I admire his golf and his achievements but blimey he's an arrogant git.

Westwoods putting is awful. Seriously poor. He putted for a 10 footer early on , practice fine...then jabbed and pushed it out out wide, very wide , of the hole. Fantastic tee to green, but average short game and well below tour standard putting. Even commentators picked up on his putt. Pouters a superb putter, always confident. Get him a hair cut and a new wardrobe and he may get somewhere. Style over substance there, but what a putter.

Worlds top 3 players and they managed 3 birdies between them. Sums up how hard the course is.
