Mate of mine did the one 2 weeks ago. I think it's a team event in that you must have at least 4 members, he mostly enjoyed it although he said he screamed like a little girl with the electricution things!

I did the Sunday May 13th event. To say it was an amazing experience would be under selling it. Most enjoyable thing I've done possibly.
I really want to do it again, but I don't think a winter event will be anywhere near as enjoyable as a summer one. The river crossings were freezing even on a warm day.

I was running with a damaged ligament in my knee but still managed 2:15 for the 12.5 miles.

2:15!!!!!!!!!!! Bugger - I'll be lucky to complete it before Tuesday!

Did you follow much of their training regimes? Or just general running / stamina fitness?

I'm a rugby player and not a long distance runner. 6'3" and 14st 8lbs at the moment.....am I going to die?

I did the Saturday 12th May event in Kettering. Team of 5 of us, absolutely loved it! Great teamwork both in team and from others at the event.

The 12 ft high Berlin Walls were a b*gger (I'm only 5' 7"ish as well!) but team work got us over. One of the surprise obstacles was a crawl through some electric lines (similar to the end electric shock but commando crawl rather than running through like a girl!) whilst a hosepipe was sprayed over you. That wasn't the most pleasant thing.

A LOT of people got hypothermia, notably from hanging around at the end waiting to attempt the half pipe. Fortunately the sun was out, I imagine it would be pretty savage in the cold and rain so doing it in the winter would be... oh, I see... good luck... wink

Did my own training routine, I'm quite fit as it is. And only small(5"9, 73kg). I saw lots of variation in fitness levels. Just go at your own pace, and enjoy it. The hardest part is when you start questioning why, how much further, etc.
