Over in Belek to play a little golf with a friend who lives here and I've ended up caddying at the Ladies European PGA tour event.

I'm caddying for 'Chrarley Hull' , she's the UK and European Amateur number 1 , World number 4 and only just 16 years
old !

Awesome talent.....and after two rounds she's made the cut and doing rather well smile

See : http://www.letscoring.com/leaderboard/56815/

It's been an amazing experience so far , she'll be teeing off after Laura Davies tomorrow who is on Level par.

I'm not really doing that much , just carrying the bag and continually saying 'good shot' smile

Oh and the legs on show here.....Wow !! Just Wow smile

5th place finish, fair play. She amateur though so you can't have 10% of her winnings, as she doesn't get any!

Which course in Belek? I was there a month ago and didn't manage to play but the courses looked stunning.

I did have a go on the Eagles range though.

We didn’t manage to get back to Beleck this year, but previous years we have played

Montgomery
The Sultan
Pines
The Pasha
Dunes
National
Kaya Eagle

Rated in that order as well, i think we must have played the National at a bad time as the state of the course wasn’t great, but we are due to go back next June (good time as courses are empty), will be playing the Faldo, Montgomery, Sultan and we going to try the national again

Montgomery is very nice.
National is excellent , shame you played it when it wasn't in good condition.
Pines and Dunes are nice ( that's the Sueno ).
Have also played the Kaya and the Sultan , yet to play the Pasha.

We also play the Lykia Links course about 15 minutes from , on the last day of each of my trips - tough tough course !

Back there in October and looks like the Worlds top 8 golfers may be playing in a comp there at that time ( incl. Tiger !! ).

Yep Monty’s course is very good, we were thinking about playing Lykia Links next year, but links courses are very difficult, we played at the isle of Purbeck, i lost about 8 balls on a windy day, can’t play links courses, even playing off a handicap of 12
The pasha is at the same location as the sultan, in comparison is shorter and more forgiving

Speaking to people who normally go to Portugal to play, the courses in Belek are better and when you throw in the all-inclusive deals for a 5 star hotel, you cannot beat Turkey for Golf

I've been to the Algarve twice this year also for long weekends, one a forkball nana arch , that was very good value , £199 for 3 nights in an appartment plus breakfast included, 4 rounds of golf, the flight was £100. We were very lucky , had great weather also.

Also go in June every year , straight after I go to Turkey every year ( good month is June ! ) , 16 of us and it costs about £500 for 5 nights and 4 days of golf ( costs a bit extra on top to play Quinta de Lago ).

I've been trying to get them to come to Belek instead , but the problem is you're really looking at £700 minimum for a short trip , the value is on the weeks holiday or two weeks even better.

The Lykia Links course does a very good all inclusive unlimited golf deal , but you really are quite isolated there , taxis into Belek are ridiculously expensive for a 15 minute journey and there's no way the 16 lads could stay in the hotel every night.

Courses are definitely nicer in Turkey. I'm also a member of the KBGS golf society in Belek ( expats golf society ) , so get some discount off the green fees when staying with friends over there. My good friend was a member at the National for a few years , but is now a member at the Gloria, which has two eighteen hole courses, one nine hole course and great practise facilities...it has three hotels attached to the courses so does get busy during golf high season.

Next year, that is June 2013 we have been quoted for 4 nights at the Papillion Zeugma Resort £479 + flights, all-inclusive playing the following courses

Montgomery, dunes, National, Faldo, you can’t beat these prices.

The only downside is that there is no night life outside the hotel, unless you know of any places to go?

That's a great price , check your dates and the ladies PGA schedule , you may be able to go watch a day of the tournament at the National if it is on during your stay. Free entry and a great way to watch the Lady Pros.

Nightlife is pretty scarce to be honest , there are a couple of expat bars in the centre of Belek , there is more going on Antalya, but it's an expensive taxi ride away and even then it's not like there are a concentration of bars.
Resurrect this thread closer to the time , I can let you know if there are any expat events going on during your stay.

There is also a big open air nightclub in Belek , be warned though the drinks are expensive and the Russian dancers are not to be messed about with - you'll very soon be told to leave them alone by the heavies wandering around the club.
Still not a bad place if it's busy and you fancy escaping the hotel , having a few beers and checking out the eye candy !
