So I've flicked onto the snooker in an optimistic but ill-fated attempt to relive the glory days of my youth when I seemed to watch it all the time. Is it just me and my limited and ever-diminishing attention span (I am writing this as I watch) or is snooker just more boring nowadays?

Where are the personalities, the Jimmy Whites, the Dennis Taylors and yes, even the Steve Davises of today?

Doing something more interesting, I'd guess. Possibly darts.

Snooker was only popular because when it was on the TV it made up fully 1/3 of the output at that time. It was cheap to film since it only needed the one camera.

Love a good tactical safety battle, me.

Seems to me that they are all ridiculously good breakbuilders/potters, and when it comes down to it, it's a bit of luck that decides the score.

Mistakes make sport interesting smile
