Any NBA fans here? For the first time ever I have looked at the fixture list and see that they play almost every day or every other day between Dec and April? Is that normal or am I missing something?

I cant believe these guys can compete at that kind of level with the travelling as well. Fitness levels must be extreme. Do they pick up a lot of injuries? Makes the footballers that complain about 2 games in a week seem small time.

Bulls fan here!

There was a lock-out at the start of this season, so it started a lot later than it should've. As a result they're playing less games this season than a normal season. But yeah, they play every 2-3 days, and its not uncommon for teams to play on back-to-back days.

For a non-contact sport there are a lot of injuries, purely down to the massive physiological stress they put themselves through.

MLB trumps NBA in terms of game numbers I think.

NBA teams have a fairly big roster and the likes of Kobe, Wade and Lebron play an avg of 35-40 mins a game.

Rooting for the Knicks this year.

Lets keep this thread going through the play offs!

I'm going for an OK City V Heat final with OK winning.

I think Rose is looking like he'll struggle with injury and NY dont seem to have timed anything right....coach out, Lin out, Stoudamire out - bad timing all round.

Part of me would like to see Kobe get another ring - just to annoy Jordan!

Well sat bulls beat dallas 93-83, deng was bulls highest scorer with 19 followed by hamilton with 15. Worth mentioning dallas rested jason kidd and jason terry for the game so not a full strength team.

Miami heat lost to washington 86-84 , during the game dwayne wade dislocated his left index finger so he was out. lebron james and chris bosh also missed the game. Dwight howard's also out due to back surgery.

I think it's the teams fighting to get into the playoffs where the action is. In the east conference ny knicks are 7th with 33 wins but just behind are philadelphia with 33 wins and milwaukee with 30 wins. Weds philly play milwaukee so that should be a pretty good game.
In the western conference you have dallas with 36 wins and utah with 34 and phoenix and houston on 33 wins. They only have 2 games left to play though.

This weeks tv games on espn are:
tues 1.30am- portland@san antonio
weds 1.00am- miami@boston
thur 1.00am clippers@miami

My play of the week goes to sacramneto kings issaiah thomas:

Lakers fan since I was 11 and played for 10 years myself. Can't see LA making it past the conference semis this year. Just no depth where it counts.

Hours of lovely old Lakers games and lots of Chicky at http://www.youtube.com/user/nonplayerzealot4

Well that was a game and a half last night!
Meta world peace sent off for elbowing a player in the head just before half time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1RluZdEUeonot the 1st time he's elbowed somebody though:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUMCNqhEXlE
Double overtime, oklahoma could of finished it in the 1st o/t as last few seconds the scores were even and they had the ball but westbrook shot a 3 and missed. 2nd o/t period kobe scored 6 points and lakers won 114-106.
Oklahomas kevin durrant and russell westbrook missed 42 shots!
Lakers played the 4th quarter and both overtimes with hill, ebanks and blake.
Hill has been at lakers 5 weeks/ 22 games, he's only played 5 games for a total of 18mins. Sunday he played 35 mins scored 14, 15 rebounds! talk about coming into form at the right time.
With the chaos that is worldpeace and bynum http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIWSKssJP2E who knows what's next for lakers.

With Artest and Bynum LA need a shrink, not a coach.

At least Ron stopped short of starting a riot (must be getting old)

Long suspension for that lack of brain power. Pretty much means he'll be gone in summer. Good finish and at least Hill got some time.

Well tomorrow and playoffs begin.
bulls are away to philadelphia and miami are taking on knicks in the garden, expect fireworks:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGD_ym_hb1M

bulls- there strong defence has got them thru the regular season but they really need derrick rose now for the playoffs.

knicks- this game should be great, i think carmello anthony will pile into the paint back throw the ball out to steve novak to get the 3 pointers.
Miami suck at long range shots, there relying on lebron james because dwayne wade's coming into this game with a dislocated left index finger and chris bosh has a problem with his hamstring.

Rose out with ACL - all over for the Bulls.

and Carmello seems to be out even when on court so Miami are gonna sweep that one!

Shumpert out for the bulls also with a torn acl

Dallas at Oklahoma city was a close game, kevin durrant shot from the foul line with 1.5 seconds left, Dallas are still a team in with a chance.

Orlando did well beating Indianna considering they didn't play dwight howard, very good game from jason richardson.

best bit of acting of the night goes to lebron james

Chandlers hard pick on lbj being called flagrant is a joke. Guys that played in the 80s / 90s must wonder what's become of the NBA!
